3 Health Benefits of Memorizing Quran Online

Memorizing Quran brings a lot of rewards to the health of an individual. It takes some sacrifice but the health impacts are immeasurable.

Having the Quran in your heart is a great blessing from Allah (SWT). It is the Book of Light and the kind of Light that heals hearts. It can rejuvenate your spirit when you are down. Moreover, when you feel like your connection with the Almighty is about to break, the Quran could be the way to ignite this connectivity. This is the reason why Allah (SWT) says in the Quran:

O mankind! Surely, there has come to you a (heart penetrating) counsel from your Master and a cure for all those (diseases) which are (hidden) in the chests. And it is guidance and mercy for those who believe. (Yūnus, 10:57)

Apart from these spiritual benefits, there are ample benefits of the Quran on our health. It might come as a surprise to most of us that a religious book could have so much power to heal human hearts. This is why the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) said:

“Such a person as recites the Quran and masters it by heart will be with the noble righteous scribes (in Heaven). And such a person exerts himself to learn the Quran by heart, and recites it with great difficulty, will have a double reward.” (SahihBukhari)

Are you struggling against a hectic routine?

If you feel like you don’t have time to memorize the Quran or you are in an age segment where it is impossible, we would like to make some suggestions. You can now avail the option to memorizing Quran online via any online Quran academy. There are plenty of virtual options nowadays. So if you are facing a time crunch or any other option, there are multiple options to choose from.

An online hifz program will allow you to develop a flexible routine. However, if you feel that you need to learn in a proper environment, choosing an Islamic Institute nearby is a good option. The Barakah in your time due to this admission will never cease to surprise you!

Memorizing Quran – a pathway to a healthy life

People have countless theories about how a person can lead a healthy life. There are interventions like meditation, yoga, exercise, etc. But, there is one therapy that is sitting right there on your bookshelf – The Quran!

It is narrated that there are more than 10 000 diseases in the world. The Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) encouraged treatment. At the same time, he has provided us a few bits of information on natural elements present around us. For instance, he (Peace Be Upon Him) often advised people to consume honey. He (Peace Be Upon Him) says:

‘AbdullāhIbnMas’ud said that he heard the Messenger of Allāh (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) as saying: “There are two cures for you all: Honey and the Qur’ān.” (Hakim, IbnAbiShaybah, Tabarani, Bayhaqi)

For the latter suggested by the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him), we would love to give you some insight. Scroll down to read three surprising health benefits of memorizing the Quran:

1. It expands your memory

When signing up for an online hifz program or on-site madrassah, imagine yourself starting a mental gymnastics program.

The more you repeat the verses you want to learn, the stronger becomes the connection between your brain and the neurons. Consequently, the capacity of your brain increases. Regular memorization strengthens your memory muscle. Just make sure you never skip your online hifz classes or regular Institute sessions to keep your brain in the learning loop.

Once you memorize Quran online or offline, you will find your brain at a much higher standard than it was before. Your intellect improves and you grab the ideas quicker than ever before.

2. It makes you smarter

Today, more people believe that memorizing something is not learning because you don’t get the core concept. However, this does not apply in the case of Online Quran memorization. All those people who memorize the Quran in a madrassah or take online hifz classes are aware of the pressure it puts on you.

Regardless of the medium, you choose (online hifz academy or classes in the nearby mosque), you have to work hard. Neurobiologists believe remembering facts can make your brain agile and quick. It lays the foundation of higher thought because you are able to recall thoughts and solve problems swiftly. Plus, when you memorize Quran online, you juggle tasks at home and get pretty good at time-management.

3. Stimulates creativity

At times, people believe that having an online hifz tutor will make the learning of the Quran easier for them. Although a tutor stays on his/her toes to make the student learn the Quran, there is a substantial responsibility on the students too.

Whether memorizing Quran online or offline, one has to hold enough information in their brain. This is the working memory. Research by Weber State University found that students who had underdeveloped memory struggled to ace at their concepts in math and reading.

Working memory is the key to creativity. As per the Dutch researchers, people with a higher working memory could perform with creativity.

Parting Comments

One of the reasons why we are suffering a lack of time is our distance with the Quran. Online hifz is one of the greatest blessings of this age. If you are having a hard time joining the nearby Institute, opt for an online hifz tutor. The amazing rewards memorization brings in your life will leave you in awe.

We see how people run from door to door seeking help and asking professionals to help them out of a miserable mental state. The Quran is a Holy Book with the potentials to cure most of our psychological issues. And you reap these rewards whether you go for online hifz or memorization at a regular Islamic center.

There is a well-documented case in Pakistan where people in a hospital experimented with Surah Rahman to heal patients. They discovered remarkable results and it was even stated that it could cure cancer. The doctors of this study have recommended listening to the recitation of Surah Rahman three times for seven days consecutively.

Studies like these inspire us, even more, to enroll ourselves for online Quran memorization right away. After all, when racing against time, you can always memorize Quran online.

Three ways to boost your Imaan

Often, we feel like our Imaan has taken a dip. Despite all our efforts to stay connected with the Almighty, it seems like we are stuck in darkness. These days, it is natural for Muslims to feel nervous. They start thinking that Allah (SWT) is displeased with them and punishing them. Meanwhile, few stop trying to reconnect with Allah (SWT) altogether.

Feelings like these are proof that your Imaan has touched rock-bottom. It is an emergency, and a faithful servant of Allah (SWT) would instantly start his/her endeavor to amplify divinity. As the adage goes, “life is full of ups and downs.” The downs are, sometimes powerful enough, to detract us from the path and lower our enthusiasm.

If you come across these rough patches now and then, you should learn the ways deployed to escalate Imaan. Our religion clearly tells that Imaan keeps fluctuating. Yet, at the same time, it provides us some handy tools to keep it at the top-most levels.

Here are three you can deploy:

Regular Recitation of the Quran

The Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) has said:

“These hearts rust just as iron rusts, and indeed they are polished through the recitation of the Qur’an.”
(Irshad-ul-Quloob)

Reading the Quran ensures that you are connected with Allah (SWT). It projects your eagerness to attain His pleasure. During these phases of regular recitation and understanding when Allah (SWT) answers to all the queries that keep you fuzzed-up during nights.

A strange sense of serenity engulfs your heart, and you feel as though your Creator will solve all your troubles. Thankfully, with online Quran classes and digital Islamic portals, we can now access deep pools of Quranic knowledge while being at the comfort of our home.

The question is, are you ready to sacrifice your time and energies for this cause?

Perform an Act of Kindness

Any act of kindness that you do to serve the creation of Allah (SWT) draws you closer to Him. It could be pouring water for a thirsty person or donating hundreds of dollars to a charity.

Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) said:

“Every act of kindness is a Sadaqa (charity)”
(Bukhari, Muslim)

Today, we live in our vast social circles, and it has become relatively easy for us to find out those who need our help. Reach out to those who need it and make sure you do not hurt them by publicizing the charity.

Note that kindness begins at home. Start your work from your family members, be kind and helpful to them. Then, expand your kindness network to other members of the community.

Offer Tahajjud Prayers

Tahajjud is the time when Allah (SWT) lands down to the first heaven, asking people to come and supplicate Him, for He is there to provide them. Anyone who feels their Imaan has taken a downturn should try to wake up in the third part of the night.

The last third of the night is the time right before Fajr. So, it might be tough getting up from bed, but once you are brave enough to get up and make wudhu, you will feel satisfaction in your heart. It can be 15 to 20 minutes before Fajr. Just pray two Raka’ah and ask Allah (SWT) what you’ve been trying to achieve for so long.

Nonetheless, if you want to follow the Sunnah way of praying Tahajjud, here is a narration in this regard:

According to Hazrat Aisha (RA)

“Allah’s Messenger (Peace Be Upon Him) used to offer eleven rak`at, and that was his prayer. He used to prolong the prostration to such an extent that one could recite fifty verses (of the Qur’an) before he would lift his head. He used to pray two Rakat (Sunna) before the Fajr prayer and then used to lie down on his right side till the call-maker came and informed him about the prayer.”
(Bukhari)

Work on this habit, and there won’t be any need to take pills for reducing your stress, inshaAllah!

Final Thoughts

Working to retain the level of your Imaan is a work that you must carry on for a lifetime. Make sure you steer clear of people and circumstances that distract you from the path of Allah (SWT). All the while, keep praying to Allah (SWT) that He calls us in His Court while we are in our best state of Imaan.

Aameen!

Pakistan Day 14th August

Pakistan – a country that came into being after loads of sacrifices and struggles. The nation takes pride in its remarkable history. It was due to unparalleled effort and grit of their forefathers that the nation overcame all roadblocks.

Today, on completing 74 years of existence, Pakistanis feel overjoyed. And rightfully so. However, there are some ethics to adhere by even during celebrations. Instead of playing loud music on the streets and doing fireworks, let’s figure out how we can play a productive role to revamp our state of affairs.

It is okay to celebrate. But let’s celebrate while staying within our religious and cultural limits. Here is what you can do:

• Offer two rakahs voluntary prayer to express gratitude to Allah (SWT)
• Make supplication and plead Allah (SWT) to improve our conditions
• Plan with your friends/family to plant some trees
• Visit an NGO or Social Welfare Home and contribute your time/money
• Analyze your talents and think how you can utilize them for the nation

The point being that at this hour, we need a different approach. We must control the deteriorating condition of our country. Our elders and martyrs shed their blood for this land. It is our responsibility to become active and save it from shredding into pieces.

Let’s show all enemies out there that Pakistan is a determined nation. We won’t allow any external forces to rip us apart. We are the country that always bounces back up when pushed down.

And while we are planning, seek assistance from Allah (SWT) to sort our problems. If He only says BE, no one can stop us from being the next global force!

Insha’Allah.

8 Rules to Memorize the Quran

Amongst all the blessings Allah (SWT) has showered upon us, the best of all is the Quran. Although we fail to realize its worth in this life, it will be evident in the Hereafter. When those who have memorized the Quran by heart will be given a crown of honor and honorable garments, their glory will be unparalleled!

It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah thWhen those who have memorized the Quran by heart will be given a crown of honor and honorable garments, their glory will be unparalleled!at the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The Quran will come on the Day of Resurrection and will say, ‘O Lord, adorn him.’ So he will be given a crown of honor to wear. Then it will say, ‘O Lord, give him more.’ So he will be given a garment of honor.’ Then it will say, ‘O Lord, be pleased with him.’ So Allah (SWT) will be pleased with him. Then it will be reported to him, ‘Recite and advance in status, and for each verse, you will gain one more hasanah (reward for good deed).” – (Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 2915)

With that insight, it is hard to ignore the virtues of memorizing the Quran.

Have you ever been called onto the stage to receive a special prize? The crowd cheering on you and the chief guest handing you the award?

If not, imagine being in such a position. How do you feel? Fantastic, right?

Well, it’s going to be the same scenario. Except, the crowd will be huge! And the presenter would be the Most Supreme Authority. Who wouldn’t like to receive an award from Him?

So if you are capable and eager to learn the Quran by heart, you must not delay the endeavor. Here are eight rules you should follow to make the journey easy:

  1. The First Gear

For starters, you should do the following:

  • Purify your intention – you should only do it for the sake of Allah (SWT)
  • Pray – ask Allah (SWT) to honor and reward you for your hard work
  • Repent – seek forgiveness for all the sins you have committed in the past
  1. Find Your Tutor/Reader

Once you are clear on your goals, your next step is to find a reliable tutor. Be it an Online Memorization Tutor or a known scholar at the nearby Islamic Center. Make sure that the teacher is authentic, knowledgeable, and well-versed in Tajweed Rules. He/she should be capable of guiding you and pointing out your flaws.

Even though you can learn the Quran on your own too, having an authority figure makes a significant difference. For one, it keeps you away from skipping the lessons or forgetting the previously learned verses.

  1. Stick to One Specific Copy

This rule will help you master your Hifdh. Given that you are learning from the same copy, the verses will start appearing in your imagination when you recite. The form of the verses and their placement stamps in your mind. It happens because you keep looking at the copy for learning.

  1. Understand the Meaning

Allah (SWT) has sent down this Quran for implementation. Blind recitation of The Book becomes highly virtuous if you also understand the meaning. You must know the commands tied up with each verse. It is, therefore, integral to know the Quran in your mother tongue. As you can link the verse with meaning, learning becomes more manageable.

The best method of doing that is to read the meaning of your lesson verses.

  1. Apportion the Daily Lessons

Every individual varies in his/her caliber. Instead of competing with your fellows, find the pace that works for you. It could be one page, half a page, or several verses. If you are learning the Quran via an Online Hifdh Academy or an Online Memorization Tutor, they will help you find the speed that works for you.

Whatever it is, make sure you are consistent with learning. Do not falter from the fixed lesson amount.

And to ensure that happens, follow the next rule –

  1. Master Every Lesson

It is useless to move onto the next session if you do not master the last one.  If you have started this journey, do not let the enthusiasm die with time. Make it your business to recite it throughout the day. One trick of making it doable is to fix a particular portion in each Salah. Plus, make it a rule not to move on to the next lesson unless the present one is fully memorized.

  1. Loud Voice

You may feel awkward initially, but reciting in a loud voice really helps. When your voice falls onto your eardrums, you start learning verses in a better way.

Make sure you do not recite so loud that people around you get irritated. Keep your pitch moderate. For instance, if you have joined an online memorization class, your voice should be loud enough for the tutor to hear. And when you are reciting on your own, it should be hearable to your ears.

Reciting silently takes time, but when you read your lesson aloud, you will learn better.

  1. Devote Time

As mentioned earlier, don’t let the enthusiasm blow away with time. You are treading onto a noble mission. You must allow a considerable amount of time to it. The time after Fajr and Maghrib is the best. Students of knowledge study their lessons at this time, and it brings brilliant results.

Try it out. You will definitely feel the difference.

The Bottom Line

In the end, it is vital to mention that the golden period of memorization is five until twenty-three years. Yet, it certainly does not mean that you cannot stride onto this mission later. As the adage goes, if there is a will, there is a way.

No matter which age bracket you belong to, you can be a Hafidh! All you need is devotion and follow all the rules.

We hope you will win the glorious crown and garments on Resurrection Day, insha’Allah!
