What Is Rajab?

Rajab comes at number 7 in Islamic months. Rajab’s meaning is “to respect”. Rajab is a key to the months of goodness that follow it. In this regard, Imam Abu Bakr Al-Waraq (may Allah have mercy on him) says: In this regard, Imam Abu Bakr Al-Warraq (may Allah have mercy on him) says: Rajab is like wind, the Shuban is like cloud and Ramadan is like rain, that is, sow the seed (goodness) in Rajab, water it in Shaban and reap the harvest in Ramadan.

Why Is Rajab Important?

Rajab is the month in which Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.W) Isra ascended from Makkah to Jerusalem and met Allah through the heavens. Rajab is counted among the 4 (Muharram, Rajab Zul Qada, and Zul Hajjah) sacred months in which the battles are forbidden. In Quran Surah Al Tobah Ayat 36 Allah says: Indeed, the number of months with Allah is twelve in the register of Allah (from) the day He created the heavens and the earth, of these, four are sacred. That is the correct religion, so do not wrong yourselves during them.  When the month of Rajab began, Muhammad would pray dua for Rajab:” Oh Allah, bless us in Rajab and Shaban and allow us to reach Ramzan.

Why Fast in Rajab?

Rajab month is very great. in this regard, Hazrat Imam Musa Kazim (A.S) said: In Rajab, Allah doubles the good deeds and removes the evil deeds. Whoever fasts in Rajab one day in this month is one year away from Hell. And whoever fasts for three days, then Paradise is obligatory for him.

Rajab Roza Fazilat:

Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.W) said: There are many virtues of fasting Rajab the fast of one day of Rajab is expiation for three years and the fast of another day is expiation for two years and the third day is the expiation of one year. Then the fast of every day is the expiation of every month.
