Ramadan Fasting Rules:

Muslims fast between sunrise and sunset in Ramadan we eat twice a day. The first “iftar” time is when the sunsets. And the second time is called “Sahar” which we eat before sunrise. Importance of fasting in Islam:

Hazrat Abu Hurairah narrated that Muhammad (S.A.W.W) said: Whoever misses a day of Ramadan without any excuse (without travel and illness), Then, to compensate for this, the fasting tab will not make up for the lack of a single fast. Tirmidhi Abu Dawud. Fasting is very important in Islam. Fasting is a distance from the fire of hell. In the same way, whoever fasts for one day in the way of Allah, may Allah keep his face at a distance of seventy years from the fire.

Regarding the importance of fasting, Hazrat Sulaiman bin Umar has narrated Muhammad (S.A.W.W): Whoever of you is fasting should break his fast with a date If you can’t find dates, break your fast with water because water is a purifier. And in the Qur’an, in verse 185 of Surah Al-Baqarah, Allah says: The month of Ramadan is the month in which the Qur’an was revealed which is a guide for human beings there are clear arguments for guidance and separation of truth from falsehood. Then you Then whoever of you finds this month, let him fast in it.

The reward of the fasting person:

Muhammad’s (S.A.W.W) words are: He said that the smell of the mouth of a fasting person is more desirable to him than the smell of musk. It is as if the fasting person becomes more beloved to Allah. The smell of her mouth also seems pleasant. There is a place where even the fish of the sea  Dua the fasting people. There are many rewards for those who fast. A big one for them is the reward is the pilgrimage to Allah who will be blessed with fasting.

In addition, fasting, getting up, sitting down, and sleeping is considered as acts of worship. Forgiveness is offered to those who fast on the last night of Ramadan. The Companions asked: Is this night a night of forgiveness? He said no, the constitution is that the laborer should be paid at the end of the work. (Ibn Haban)

Quran is the sacred scripture of Islam. It is the last book sent from Allah for guidance. The word Quran comes from “Qarah” which means reading and is used as an object. The Qur’an was revealed to our last prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.W) in a period of 23 years.

Introduction of Quran:

The introduction to Quran in its own, what does Quran say about itself. So the first question arises, who wrote Quran? So Allah Almighty says in Surah Shura “And indeed, the Quran is the revelation of the Allah of the words” When the world was plunged into the darkness of ignorance, the Quran was revealed in the month of Ramadan in the year 610 C E. The complete Qur’an was revealed in a period of 23 years which was completed in 632 C E.

And it is incumbent upon the believers to obey Allah, Belief on his Messengers, on the books revealed to him, believing in the angels and the last day.

Other names of Quran:

We can call the Quran from many names like Al-Burhan, Burhan means arguments, every verse of the Qur’an is revealed with argument. Is another name Al-Kitab, Al-Kitab means the most read book, the third name is Tazkirah, Tazkirah means the one who provides instruction and advice, The fourth name is An-Noor is called the Enlight, that is, the book of guidance and Enlightening book, Further, Qur’an is also called Al-Furqan, The one who distinguishes between true and false and Similarly, there are many verses in the Quran which provide healing, hence it is also called Al-Shifa.

Muslims think that the Quran is not simply divinely inspired, but the literal word of God. The last Prophet(ﷺ) did not write it as he did not know how to write but several of his companions served as scribes, recording the revelations. Thus, the Quran was compiled by the companions after his death, who had written down or memorized parts of it.

In some cases, the Quran summarizes some, dwells at length on others, and presents alternative accounts and interpretations of events. Thus, it is described as a book of guidance for mankind. In this book, some detailed accounts of specific historical events are discussed, and it often emphasizes the moral significance of an event over its narrative sequence. It is recited in Arabic, its original language, during the prayers.

Reading the Quran:

A few days back, one of my elders asked me that in how many days I used to finish reading the whole Quran. Since I’ve been so busy with work that I barely finished the first couple of chapters, so I felt embarrassed. But on Ramadan days I’m blessed to finish it in a month as I get to read it every day.

Hence, reading the holy Quran has a magical influence on Muslims, and even though some don’t realize it, it does feed the heart and mind. So, I thought about the solution and realized that it’s easy to finish reading the Quran just in 30 days.

After every prayer, we can easily read four pages, which is equal to 600 pages in 30 days. Thus, the Quran has 604 pages and we can finish reading it just in 30 days.

Chapters of varying lengths, it has 114 surahs, classified as Meccan or Medinan, depending on whether the verses were revealed before or after the migration of Muhammad(ﷺ) to the city of Medina.

Known as Ayaat, each sūrah consists of several verses, which originally means a “sign” or “evidence” sent by Allah. Every Surah contains a different number of verses. An individual verse may be just a few letters or several lines.

In a month, the 30 juz’ (plural ajzāʼ) can be used to read through the entire Quran. therefore, the holy book of Muslims is also divided into seven approximately equal parts, manzil (plural manāzil), for it to be recited in a week.

The first verse of revelation was about education for all as Allah said,” Read in the name of your Lord who created, created man from a clinging form. Read! Allah is the Most Generous, who taught by means of the pen; taught man what he did not know”.

So, mankind was addressed in these verses to seek knowledge and delve into critical thinking. Therefore, the emphasis laid on the acquisition of knowledge surpasses any statement or action denying girls’ the right to education.

As it does so in several other places in the Quran, the word “men” refers to humankind when Allah addresses humanity. Therefore, it is clear through these verses that engaging in critical thinking is a moral obligation on both men and women.

Our prophet(ﷺ) said in some Ahadith: “Seeking knowledge is mandatory for every Muslim.” And in another: “He who has a slave-girl and teaches her good manners and improves her education will get a reward.”

Thus, education is not a right but a responsibility for every Muslim, male or female. If we see into the information about the intellectual abilities of two wives of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ): Khadijah and Aishah(R.A), we will understand the right of education for women in Islam.
