When was the Quran Revealed?

As everyone knows, the Quran is the word of Allah and it is safe. The Quran was revealed two times, once in Bait-ul-Ma’moor (which is the place of worship of the angels). And the second time it was revealed to Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W.W) little by little over a period of 23 years. The revelation of the Quran two times is clear from the style of the Quran itself. Numerous narrations have been narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas, The summary of which is that the Qur’an was first revealed to the whole sky at once, and the second time to Muhammad (S.A.W.W).

The purpose of revealing the Quran two times was to evaluate the glory and glory of the Quran. And the angels were told that this is the last book of Allah which is to be sent down for the guidance of the people of the earth. Now the question is when was the Qur’an revealed? According to the correct view, the revelation of the Quran took place on a single night of Ramadan. But there is no definite tradition as to what night it was. According to some scholars, the night of Ramadan is 17 known from some says 19, and from some narrations says 27 Ramdan. In Quran Surah Al Baqrah verse 185, Allah says: In the month of Ramadan, the Quran was revealed as a guide for the people in which are clear signs of right guidance and a standard (between truth and falsehood).

Beginning of revelation to Muhammad (S.A.W.W):

The first verses that were revealed to Muhammad were the first 5 verses of Surah Al-Alaq. The first verses that were revealed to Muhammad were the first 5 verses of Surah Al-Alaq. In Sahih Bukhari, Hazrat Aysha (R.A) narrates this incident as follows: Muhammad (S.A.W.W) had true dreams before revelation. After that Muhammad (S.A.W.W) became interested in solitude.

During this time Muhammad spent many nights in Ghar-e-Hira and worshiped.  Until one day Muhammad (S.A.W.W) through Hazrat Jibril (AS) received revelation from Allah. Beyond this, Muhammad himself says that Gabriel said: Iqra (Read) then prophet Muhammad said, “I am not educated.” Upon this answer of Muhammad, (S.A.W.W) Gabriel (A.S) grabbed him, and released him. then said: Iqra (Read),  then he gave the same answer. And Muhammad (S.A.W.W) said: then he again grabbed me for the third time and released me.

Then Gabriel recited the first 5 verses of Surah Al-Alaq and he asked Muhammad (S.A.W.W) to read. Read, (Oh Prophet) in the Name of your Allah Who created. Who created man from a clinging clot. Read! And your Allah is the Most Generous. Who taught with pen. He taught humans what they did not know. (Surah Al- Alaq Verses 1 to 5.) This period is called the period of revelation. Three years after the revelation, the Hazrat Gabriel (A.S) appeared again between heaven and earth. He (Jibraeel A.S) recited the verses of Surah Mudassir and after that, the same series of revelations continued for 23 years.

Purpose of the revelation of the Quran:

The purpose of the Qur’an is to guide mankind to the straight path. And also its purpose is also to translate the other three Holy books (Torah Zaboor & Injeel) because the previously revealed books kept changing with time and circumstances.

The real purpose of the revelation of the Quran is to guide humanity but even then we read it for the sake of reward, which is why we are deprived of the guidance of Allah. And ignorance is upon us. By the grace is Allah, He has given us such a book if we make it a real guide in our life So the possibility of error in life is never possible. Muhammad (S.A.W.W)said In his last sermon: I am leaving two things between you, if you hold fast to it you will never go astray and if you leave it you will go astray, And then he said: One of them is Quran and one is my Sunnah.

Nowhere in the Qur’an is it written that kiss it, apply to eyes and place it on a high place. Yes, this is a recommended method and comes with respect which no one can deny. Therefore, it is necessary to read the Qur’an with understanding so that one can understand the real purpose of the revelation of this book.

Quran is the source of guidance:

Allah has revealed the Qur’an to us for guidance at the very beginning of the Qur’an, The guidance of the Qur’an is very comprehensive. One of the characteristics of Islam is that if you look at the religion of Musa (A.S), you will find a few commandments. If you look at the religion of Isa (A.S), you will find ethics. But completely where there are rules and there is also morality, that is the Quran. And it is not that this book is giving guidance in one field of man and has left the other field. You will not see any space in this Book. Understand that there is not a single moment in the book from the purpose of life of man to the fulfillment of his purpose of life in which the Qur’an has not given guidance. Allah has said: Alif-Laam-Meem.

This is a book that no doubt, Guidance for those who fear Allah (Surah Al Baqra Verses 1 to 2). Quran Contains Everything a man needs to know. and this is a guide for its readers. Because there is no possibility of any kind of error or misinterpretation in this. The Quran is a light for those who distinguish between right and wrong and guide them. It is said in Surah Al-Anfal, referring to the true believers: And when the verses of Allah are recited to them, they increase their faith. (Surah Al-Anfal Verse No 2).  All the chapters of this book shed light on all human aspects and confirm the earlier holy books.
